About This Event
Mutual support for maximally outsourced entrepreneurs
- A gathering of entrepreneurs sharing best practices for launching prototype concepts in the most lightweight way possible.
- The focus is on launching "quick and dirty" proof of concept ventures (websites, Facebook apps, mobile apps, etc) using outsourced talent, open-source/off-the-shelf software components, virtual/cloud computing services, and minimal capital.
- Build a prototype on 'outsourcing marketplaces' like oDesk, guru.com, eLance, rentacoder, etc and go on to become more 'legitimate' (funded, staffed, etc) once the market has been proven.
- Share advice and best practices for launching companies (getting financing, building the technology, managing the project/team, marketing, etc).
Agenda for June meeting:
- Sana - Introductions (new members) updates (old members)
- Gil - Marketing and elevator pitches
- Ben/Jeevan - ULS blog ideas
- Graham - ULS administration (future meeting formats/topics/content, sponsorship, etc
This meeting is designed to be “100% participatory” for ultra-light tech entrepreneurs. We will go around the room and have everyone talk about their project and show their website to kick off the meeting. As before, we are limiting participation to current, full-time, tech entrepreneurs because of space limitations and to keep the desired group focus.
